"Try It" Functionality in the Digital Marketplace

The “Try It” functionality works differently in Digital Marketplace than it was on in the old API portal (https://dev.cat.com).

• You must be subscribed to an API to use "Try It". For more information, see API Subscriptions and Teams.
• Because Digital Marketplace cannot securely get OAuth tokens from the website itself to limit API access appropriately, developers must use their Caterpillar-provided app’s credentials to get the token first, and then call the APIs through "Try It".

Our recommendation is to use Postman or SoapUI instead of the "Try It" function. For more information, see Using Caterpillar GIS-Approved API Testing Tools.
